Some events are created for a client.
Some are created for a purpose.
And some are created because you believe an idea deserves to exist.
PFM – Progressive Farmers Meet was one such idea.
Conceived and organised by RIB Media, PFM was our own event property created to bring progressive farmers, agricultural brands, experts and industry stakeholders together on a common platform.
From 2005 to 2018, PFM became an important part of our journey in the agricultural events space, giving us an opportunity to create a platform that was not simply about showcasing products, but about celebrating the people who are constantly looking for better ways to farm, grow and succeed.
For RIB Media, PFM represents something particularly special.
It was our own property — our own concept, our own platform and our own vision.
Celebrating the Progressive Farmer
Agriculture has always been driven by people willing to embrace change.
The progressive farmer is someone who looks beyond conventional practices. Someone who is willing to explore new technology, consider new techniques, understand new products and adopt ideas that can improve productivity and efficiency.
PFM was created around this spirit.
The Progressive Farmers Meet provided a platform where farmers could come together with agricultural companies, experts and professionals, exchange ideas and discover solutions relevant to the changing agricultural landscape.
It was a meeting of experience and innovation.
A meeting of knowledge and opportunity.
And above all, a meeting of people connected by agriculture.
An Idea That Started in 2005
The journey of PFM began in 2005.
At a time when agricultural communication was undergoing significant change, RIB Media recognised the importance of creating a more direct and engaging platform for interaction between farmers and the agricultural industry.
Rather than simply creating another exhibition or promotional event, the idea was to develop a property with its own identity.
PFM was designed to bring the right audience into the right environment.
A place where farmers could interact.
Where brands could communicate.
Where experts could share knowledge.
And where meaningful conversations could take place.
From 2005 through 2018, RIB Media organised PFM as an independent event property, building experience and strengthening our understanding of agricultural audiences with every edition.
More Than a Farmers’ Meet
The name may have been Progressive Farmers Meet, but the vision went beyond simply gathering farmers in one place.
PFM was about engagement.
It was about creating an environment where agricultural brands could communicate directly with their target audience.
For participating organisations, the event offered opportunities to present products, demonstrate solutions and build relationships.
For farmers, it provided access to information, ideas and interactions that could contribute to better decision-making.
For RIB Media, it was an opportunity to bring together everything we had learned about event planning, branding, production and audience engagement.
That combination made PFM a distinctive property.
Creating the Platform from the Ground Up
Owning an event property is very different from simply executing an event.
When the property is your own, every element carries your responsibility.
The concept.
The identity.
The positioning.
The audience.
The communication.
The event design.
The production.
The experience.
And ultimately, the reputation of the property itself.
PFM gave RIB Media the opportunity to take complete ownership of this process.
From conceptualisation and planning to branding, fabrication, production and on-ground execution, the event became a reflection of our own standards and capabilities.
It allowed us to experiment, innovate and continuously improve the experience.
Every edition contributed something new to what PFM could become.
Building Relationships Through Experience
At the heart of every successful event is human interaction.
And in agriculture, that interaction is particularly valuable.
Farmers want practical information.
They want to understand how a product can help them.
They want to ask questions.
They want to compare solutions.
They want to hear from people with experience.
PFM created an environment where these conversations could happen naturally.
Instead of communication being limited to traditional advertising, brands had the opportunity to engage directly with farmers.
This is the power of experiential communication.
When people meet, interact and experience a brand first-hand, communication becomes more meaningful.
And when that interaction is supported by a well-planned event environment, it can create lasting impressions.
2005 to 2018: A Chapter of Growth
Over its journey from 2005 to 2018, PFM became an important chapter in RIB Media’s evolution.
These were years of significant change in both agriculture and event marketing.
Technology was developing rapidly.
Agricultural products and solutions were becoming more sophisticated.
Brands were looking for new ways to reach their audiences.
And farmers were becoming increasingly open to new information and innovative approaches.
PFM evolved within this changing environment.
The experience of organising our own property also strengthened RIB Media’s ability to understand every side of the event equation — from audience expectations and sponsor requirements to creative presentation and operational execution.
That experience continues to influence the way we approach events today.
Part of a Larger Agricultural Legacy
PFM did not exist in isolation.
It formed part of RIB Media’s broader and longstanding association with agricultural events and audiences.
Our journey with Kissan Mela dates back to 1989, giving us decades of experience in creating platforms that connect agricultural brands with the farming community.
PFM added another important dimension to that journey.
While Kissan Mela represented our long-standing participation in an established platform, PFM represented something different:
We created the platform ourselves.
That distinction makes PFM particularly important in the history of RIB Media.
It demonstrated our ability not only to execute events, but also to conceptualise, develop and own event properties.
A Legacy of Ideas
The last edition of PFM was organised in 2018, bringing an important chapter of the property to a close.
But an event property does not disappear simply because an edition ends.
Its ideas remain.
Its experiences remain.
The relationships built through it remain.
And the expertise gained through it becomes part of the organisation’s future.
PFM contributed to the evolution of RIB Media as an experiential company capable of creating platforms around specific audiences and industries.
It reinforced a belief that has remained central to our work:
An event should have a purpose.
It should bring people together for a reason.
It should create opportunities for interaction.
And it should leave something meaningful behind.
Looking Back with Pride
Today, when we look back at the journey of PFM from 2005 to 2018, we see much more than a series of events.
We see an idea that RIB Media believed in.
We see years of planning, creativity and execution.
We see farmers, brands and experts coming together.
We see teams working behind the scenes to turn a concept into reality.
And we see an important part of our own evolution.
PFM was RIB Media’s own property — created from our understanding of the agricultural sector and our passion for bringing people together through meaningful experiences.
It remains a proud chapter in our story.
Because at RIB Media, our journey has never been only about managing events.
It has always been about creating experiences, building platforms and turning ideas into reality.
From participating in Kissan Mela since 1989 to creating our own Progressive Farmers Meet from 2005 to 2018, our agricultural event journey reflects decades of experience, learning and innovation.
PFM may belong to a chapter of our past, but the spirit behind it continues to shape the future of RIB Media.
RIB Media — Rely in Best.
